Turn a wrong answer into your next study task

Diagnose a missed question, write a useful correction, and test whether you can repeat the reasoning.

Save the reasoning, not the answer letter

Answer positions can change. Record the concept, the values given, your chosen reasoning, and the explanation you needed. Use a question identifier when it is available.

I divided 24 by 500 because I used milliamperes as if they were amperes.

Name one cause

Use a category that tells you what to do next: missing concept, wrong formula, unit conversion, missed wording, or time management. If more than one applies, start with the earliest mistake in your reasoning.

Cause: unit conversion. Correction: 500 mA = 0.5 A before substituting into R = V ÷ I.

Write a small repair task

Choose something you can finish in one sitting. A useful repair task is more specific than ‘study electrical.’ Explain the rule and work a new example with different numbers.

Repair task: convert 250 mA to A, then calculate resistance with a 12 V supply.

Try it again with the explanation hidden

Close the answer and solve from the beginning. Add a reminder to revisit it in a later session. If the same error returns, go back to the underlying lesson or ask your instructor to explain the point you cannot resolve.

12 V ÷ 0.25 A = 48 Ω. I can now explain why 12 ÷ 250 would use inconsistent units.
