Terms of service

The terms for using CodeSafe Academy and its learning tools.

1. Your agreement with CodeSafe

These terms govern the Academy website, app and learning services operated by CodeSafe Canada, operating under Varkelon Holdings LTD. (“CodeSafe”, “we”, “us”). By accepting these terms or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Separate institution agreements may govern other CodeSafe services.

Our privacy policy explains personal information handling. Nothing here removes rights or remedies that applicable consumer or privacy law does not allow you to waive.

2. Learning, accuracy and safe use

CodeSafe provides independent trade-learning and exam-preparation tools. It is not a licensing authority and does not guarantee an exam pass, certification, employment or other professional result.

Practice questions and AI Tutor responses can contain mistakes or use a different code edition from your examination or jurisdiction. Check current official codes, local requirements and manufacturer instructions. Educational content is not professional, engineering, legal or job-site safety advice and does not authorize regulated work.

AI features are for learning and review. Do not use them to bypass an active assessment or submit confidential material without permission. Our legal notice explains references to authorities and third-party materials.

3. Accounts and sign-in

Provide accurate information, keep credentials private and report suspected unauthorized access promptly. Do not share an individual account to give others unauthorized access. We remain responsible for our own security obligations.

Where enabled, Clerk provides sign-in and verification. Use your existing CodeSafe email during migration. Some accounts require verification or support review before access is connected. Do not create another paid account to resolve a missing purchase; contact support first.

The Academy service is not intended for children under 13. If you cannot legally agree to these terms yourself, a parent or legal guardian must authorize use and any purchase as required by applicable law.

4. Plans, prices and renewal

Features, trade coverage, AI allowances, price, currency, billing period and applicable taxes are shown with the plan and before payment. Accepted checkout terms and your confirmation govern the purchase. A guest question trial is not a paid subscription and does not automatically charge you.

Monthly and annual subscriptions renew as disclosed at checkout until cancelled. One-time plans do not have recurring subscription charges. A change to advertised new-customer pricing does not itself change an existing subscription’s agreed price or renewal terms.

We give appropriate notice before changes materially affect an existing paid arrangement and obtain consent where required. Nothing here permits us to disregard an existing purchase’s terms.

5. Cancellation, refunds and payment help

Cancel a web subscription through available account billing controls, or contact support@codesafeca.com for help. Unless your purchase terms say otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals and access continues until the paid period ends. Uninstalling the app or signing out does not cancel a subscription.

Unless your purchase terms or applicable law provide otherwise, fees are generally non-refundable once access has been provided. Cancellation does not automatically refund an already paid period. Contact us about duplicate, incorrect or unauthorized charges, or service that was not provided. Your statutory refund, cancellation and dispute rights remain available.

Stripe processes web payments. CodeSafe does not store full card numbers or card security codes. Contact CodeSafe for help with a CodeSafe purchase; use the relevant store’s subscription or refund controls for any purchase billed by an app store.

6. Content and acceptable use

CodeSafe and its licensors retain their intellectual property rights. Your access permits personal educational use of included features and materials. Third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable licences.

Do not resell, bulk copy, scrape or redistribute restricted question banks or protected content without authorization. Do not bypass controls, misuse accounts, introduce malware, interfere with the service, violate others’ rights or use the service unlawfully. These restrictions do not remove uses permitted by applicable law or an applicable open-source licence.

7. Suspension, closure and deletion

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address non-payment, a material breach, fraud or a security risk. We provide notice and an opportunity to resolve an issue where practicable; urgent protection may require immediate action. Contact support to request review.

Request deletion on the account-deletion page. Completed deletion permanently removes supported account data and ends access. Retention exceptions are in the privacy policy. Deletion does not remove accrued rights or obligations, including statutory remedies.

8. Availability and responsibility

We work to maintain a useful, reliable service, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation or error-free content. Maintenance, outages and corrections may affect availability. Material changes to paid services are subject to your purchase terms and applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of fitness for a particular educational or professional outcome and liability for indirect or consequential losses from service use. This does not exclude fraud, wilful misconduct or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limit non-waivable consumer rights.

9. Changes, governing law and contact

We identify revised terms by date and give appropriate notice of material changes. Where fresh agreement is required, we request it. Changes do not retroactively alter completed purchases or waive existing rights.

Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law govern these terms, subject to mandatory protections and rights available where you live. Send questions, billing concerns and access reviews to support@codesafeca.com.
